The Sudanese Defence Minister General Jamal Al-Din Omer passed on in Juba on Wednesday morning at 2:30AM while he was praying, announced by Sudan and South Sudan government.
At the State House the Sudanese Spokesman, Mohammad Hassan Othman Al-Taishi, told the press that late General Jamal was the head of the security arrangements negotiations of the Sudanese Peace Talks that taking place in Juba.
Meanwhile South Sudan government Spokesman, Michael Makuei Lueth, conveys the government condolences to the bereave family and the Sudanese government, describing the death as unfortunate and great loss to the both countries.
The body of the late was flown to Khartoum, Sudan accompanied by South Sudan’s Defence Minister, Angelina Teny and the Minister of Investment Dr Dhieu Mathok who is also the secretary of South Sudan mediation team at the Sudanese Peace Talks.
The Sudanese Peace Talks will be postponed for a week to allow officials to grieve the loss of their first Vice President of the Sudan Sovereign Council.
Before he passed on late general Jamal Al Din met with President Salva Kiir and the minister of defence Angelina Teny.
