‘If you want to become holy, you abandon sin, you repent so that you are saved, Fr Tom Poru Martin, Parish Priest of Christ the King Cathedral in the Catholic Diocese of Yei advised Christians on Sunday.

He explained that Christian life does not mean that after repentance one goes back to sin.

Fr Poru advised the faithful to always focus on going forward, but never to slide back and think about personal life in order to be saved.

The parish priest mentioned that catechism teaches worshipers that God is everywhere because He is a spirit that controls everything.

With God there is no beginning and end, but is about time because He controls the universe, he added

The catholic priest explained that God cannot be cheated by lying, deceiving because He is truthful and a spirit that knows everything.

He cited that because of the sinful nature of humans in the world, other people like to deceive those with clear consent and when failed to deceive, tends to confuse threaten and intimidate them.

God sees the inside and outside of every person He created, Fr Tom cautioned.

The Church leader warned Christians against judging others because of their external appearances because some people who appear bad are having clean hearts and others who smile every time have dirty hearts.

He encouraged the faithful to sacrifice themselves for the sake of other people like David instead of sacrificing for self interest.

The parish priest advised politicians to be good like David because politics is good adding that bad politics have bad consequences which do not lead to prosperity.
