HIV cases increasing in Rumbek State Hospital

Rumbek State Hospital Clinical Officer said HIV infections are increasing in Lakes State.
 
Speaking to Good News Radio on Thursday, Arach Maker said out of two hundred thousand HIV infection cases in the country, Lakes state has the highest number.
 
Maker explained that the incidence rate can be reduced by frequent taking of the new HIV drugs or ARVs.
 
He appealed to government and NGOs to create awareness programs about HIV infections and control measures in the state.
 
HIV/AIDs can be acquired through bodily contact with fluids from an infected person. And can be avoided by not sharing sharp objects, use of condoms, or abstinence from sex, he caustioned.
