Focus on spiritual journey in order to overcome problems facing them in this world, Fr. Kalisto Lokuya Ben, in the Catholic Diocese of Torit urged the Christians.
He told Radio Emmanuel in his live reflection that many people are unable to give solution to their issues because they are not able to realize causes of their problems.
Fr. Lokuya added that the only solution to the problem of mankind is Jesus Christ.
‘Jesus calls on us to turn round and to focus much more on our spirit journey, every human being is thirsty, is desiring to be with the Lord. We sometimes do not see to the reasons to our problem because we become blind because of these ups and downs in the world, but is Jesus is the only one who has the solution to human problems when you worry, when you are fearful, restless’, he preached.
Meanwhile vicar general of the Catholic Diocese of Torit Fr. John Sebit encouraged Christians to be strong by calling the name of God whenever they encounter temptations.
He added that temptation should strengthen the faith and enables Christians to journey and reflect their relationship with God.
‘You must be strong, whenever you find difficulties, don’t surrender, you go because you sacrifice yourself for the people, but, don’t sacrifice yourself only to your family but to all like what Moses did to lead his people to the Promised Land. So temptation is God’s trial, even He was tempted for 40 days to show to us that we were going to encounter the temptation and this should enable us reflect the word of God. What Jesus answered in those three temptations, your faith should be manifested in your service’, the Vicar said.
Fr Kalisto was giving his reflection on Radio Emmanuel while Fr Sebit was preaching to the congregation at St’s Peter and Paul Cathedral on Sunday.
