The body of late Major-general Majok Deng Mabok was laid to rest on Saturday at his home town of in Rumbek.
The late Majok served in both Anynya 1 and SPLA Battalions.
A member of National Legislative Assembly Deng Monydit described late Majok Deng as a legend who contributed positively to the freedom of South Sudan, Good News Radio reported.
He explained that the late commander started his military career in 1963 and became Major General in 2005.
The late Majok survived with eleven wives and forty-six children and a number of grandchildren.
