Women are the pillars of every community because they cater for the well being of others, says Thiago Wolfer, head of mission for Non-Violence Peace Force South Sudan office during women conference in Juba.
He stresses amplifying women voices in south Sudan by providing them with capacity building will help promote peace in the new nation.
Participant Hawa Adam says she learnt that for women to achieve anything they need to work together so that their voices can be heard.
Another participant Egbandama Josephine encourages members to put the knowledge gained during the conference into practice.
She adds it is pointless to attain conferences and training which do not have impact in the community.
Executive Director of Eve organization Rita Lopidia encourages women to improve their knowledge through capacity building.
She adds in order for women to compete with men, they should support each other regardless of their differences.
The speakers were talking during a three-day workshop for women organized by Non Violence Peace Force in Juba under the theme: ‘Uniting and raising women voices in peace building and community protection’.
