WBGS discourages early marriage in South Sudan

Western Bhar-El-Ghazal State discourages the practice of early pregnancy, urging mothers to take responsibility of protecting their girls from early marriages.
 
Government representative, Edward Wade appeals to parents to support their daughters in different ways to reduce early pregnancies, Voice of Hope Radio reports.
 
He says it is everyone’s responsibility to protect women and girls from gender based violence or GBV to fight women rights issues.
 
He mentions drop out of school as one of the disadvantages of early pregnancy.
 
Wade encourages women to pursue their thirty five percent through education or they will not achieve their rights.
 
The official made the remarks during women’s day celebration at the ministry of education in Wau.
