Lack of financial assistance drops school performance, says headmaster

Head teacher of Tonj Secondary School in former Tonj State, Santino Ayom Manyoun said lack of financial assistance drop school performance.
 
He called on the government, philanthropists and well-wishers to support the school administration.
 
In an exclusive interview with Don Bosco radio at his office Mr Ayom pointed out that the school is in dire situation of issue of teachers.
 
The head teacher also disclosed that his school performed very well this year compared to 2018 in senior four’s results of 2019.
 
According to him, the total number of candidates was thirty-two in which the number of boys was 24 and 8 girls, but only 39 students sat for exams and 3 students were absent.
 
Meanwhile the total number of those who passed is 69.1% and they percentage of students who failed is 23.8 percent with 7.1 percent for absentees.
 
The headmaster raised challenges including inadequate teachers, textbooks and lack of proper toilets at the school.
 
The headmaster made his remark on Thursday in the school campus.
