At least twenty-five people died in Tonj East during inter-communal conflict and twenty-two others sustained injuries, said Gabriel Awan Machuoc, Secretary-General of the former Tonj State.
He says the conflict that started on March 2, 2020 has displaced many people in the area.
Awan added that there were cattle raided, house burned, and women and children died in the communities.
The secretary explained that the situation is now calm in the area and investigation is ongoing to bring the culprits to book.
He called on both communities to stop revenge killing and embrace peace.
Awan condemn the incident in strong terms and sends condolence to the bereaved families.
The Secretary-General talked to Don Bosco Radio on Wednesday in Tonj.
