Nutritionist urges women to be educated to avoid malnutrition in children

Stabilization Center Nutrition officer in Yambio Hospital Dr Loboi Simon advised women of Western Equatoria State to get more feeding educative skills to avoid malnutrition in children in the region.
 
He explained through Anisa Radio that mothers especially the pregnant and breastfeeding women to take precautionary measures by ensuring that they eat balanced diet 
 
Dr Simon said malnutrition is caused by lack of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, and vitamin A hence urging.
 
He advised nursing women to breastfeed their babies for the period of six months and after that they should start additional food.
 
Malnutrition is a condition that results from eating a diet in which one or more nutrients are either not enough or are too much such that the diet causes health problems.
 
It may involve calories, protein, carbohydrates, vitamins or minerals.
