The issue of the ten states and the three administrative areas will be refined a little bit, says Dr Riek Machar, designate First Vice President briefly during his arrival in Juba on Monday.

The SPLM-IO spokesman Peter Manawa Gatkuoth told the press that they will continue talks with President Salva Kiir Mayardit on states and security arrangements as the remaining outstanding issues.

He adds the main opposition group agree to meet the deadline to the formation of government of national unity on February 22nd.

Meanwhile the Presidential Advisor on Security Affairs, Tut Gatluak, says the principals will meet on Tuesday in the presence of the peace guarantors.

On the other hand Inter-governmental Authority on Development or IGAD’s chairman Dr. Ismail Wais described the return to ten states as essential for the formation of the transitional government.

He congratulated President Kiir for taking bold decision for the sake of South Sudanese.

Ambassador Wais urges the signatories to work together to form the government on time on the remaining days.

The number of states and their boundaries was a contentious issue for the two principals which led stakeholders and international community to sanction some government officials.
