The World Radio Day said the day recognizes the importance of radio impacts in the lives of citizens, said Mawa A Moses, Minister of Information in Yei River State, on Thursday.
He explained that Radio plays a significant role in passing messages of love, hope unity and healing to the people of the state and the country at large, Radio Easter reported.
Moses mentioned that the radio stations in Yei helped him get a lot of information which are not got on streets or in public places especially news and social announcements.
He explained that the Radios helped the citizens rebuild their lives and have hope on the future.

The minister described the relationship between the government and radio stations in the state cordial and urged the relation to be stronger than it is.
He stressed that the government never closed any radio station in the state or arrests a journalist because of the level of cooperation.
The government leader cited that whenever there are issues they handled them amicably without misunderstanding.
Minister Moses encouraged the stations to continue with the cooperation and respond to the call of the government when needed.
The minister spoke to Radio Easter during the celebration of World Radio Day on Thursday in Yei.
