UN children Agency or UNICEF on Thursday started two-day refresher training for Ebola social mobilizers in Yei River state

UNICEF consultant Alex Jubek told Radio Easter that the training is to empower and give more skills to the social mobilizers to engage communities in supporting Ebola awareness.

He added that the workshop is also to incorporate skills of mobilizers in attracting schools and churches in addressing behavior change.

Jubek mentioned that many Ebola workshops were conducted, but some necessary topics which engage societies were not covered.

The consultant explained that about 18 suspected cases of Ebola were confirmed with contact tracing a problem due to insecurity because of the attacks in some isolation centre areas which makes it difficult to trace the victims.

He advised the communities to work closely with the mobilizers in order to identify and report any suspected sign and symptoms of Ebola.

The training which commenced on Thursday and expected to end on Friday brought together 60 participants from the different partners.
