Director of Health in Torit County Mathew Ohitai Ohide is calling on South Sudanese to reframe from overcrowding to minimize the spread of measles among children.
The statement came after two children have been diagnosed of measles in Torit County and others suspected of measles in Ikwoto County, Radio Emmanuel reported.
He said measles is a contagious disease that can easily be transmitted through sitting together.
Ohitai advised the mothers to always take care of their children and take their young ones for vaccination to prevent spread of the disease.
The director complained that lack of transport is the major problem facing health personnel in taking vaccines to people at grassroots.
He called on the state government and health partners to join hands in creating measles awareness to the local population.
Ohitai called on mothers to constantly visit the antenatal care centers for medical attention.
The speaker made remarks to Radio Emmanuel on Wednesday in Torit.
