The Ministry of Information, Culture Youth and Sports in partnership with United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS organized inter-secondary schools football competition for girls in Yei.
Speaking to Radio Easter during the opening, organizing committee chairperson Lemirigas Andrews says the competition is to promote peaceful coexistence among citizens because sports unite people.
He mentions that there are uniforms and boots for the winners.

Meanwhile Satimon Ale Yei River State Youth Chairperson says the event is organized to boost girls’ talents in sports activities.
Ale commends the efforts of trainers for ensuring that girls are selected to represent the state at the national level.
The football is expected to take place in two different venues including Yei freedom square and Yei Day Secondary School play grounds respectively.
Eight secondary schools are participating in the competition.
