Shortage of room for stabilization and admitting children affects Lafon Primary Health Care Centre, Otong Moses Cosmas Clinical officer in charge said.

He told Radio Emmanuel that the centre can only admits five children and poor feeding affects some families due to the heavy flooding of last year which has caused malnutrition.

‘We have limited resources when a child is in serious condition sometimes especially during rainy season we may not able to transfer the child from here to Torit because here it is different from the hospital even here the challenges we face now the rooms for this stabilization centre we don’t have enough rooms sometimes we can admit five children and the room is not enough because our rooms just contain two beds two beds cannot be enough for five children and then again you see the issue of feeding’, he complained.

In charge however appeals for support from government and Non-governmental Organisations in building more wards in the facility.

He also called on the government to rehabilitates roads linking Lafon to other parts of the state for easy service delivery.

‘Actually we are telling them to do what they can do for such challenges we are presenting to them so they should make a feedback for us so that they can do some other things to make the facility as expected so if they put all those challenges we are facing I think we shall be able to admit more malnourished children within the facility and then we shall be able to capture all the malnourished children’, he said

‘I appeal to the government if really they can see this condition of the road so that all the supply need to be brought here in Lafon should reach the people in time’, he pleaded.

The speaker was talking to Radio Emmanuel in Torit on Tuesday.
