The citizens of Tonj State are calling on the government especially the public Health concerned authorities to construct public toilets in the markets.

Don Bosco Radio quoted Aguak Anyuon Pal, a restaurant owner, complaining over lack of toilets in the main market as the biggest challenge to both traders and buyers.

She said absence of public toilets in the market has tarnished the image of the town in terms of hygiene and sanitation.

Anyuon revealed that the many people affected are the women especially those who are coming from far places passing to other states or counties.

Julia Bishai Nuu, a tea seller, appealed to the authorities to quickly look into the issue.

Public Health Director in Tonj Municipality, Thomas Akot, blamed the community for misusing the toilets that the World Vision constructed five years ago to help citizens in the market.

He challenged the residents for not following the regulations Municipality gave for respecting public services.

The speakers spoke to Don Bosco Radio in an interview in Tonj.
