Health ministry to launch measles campaign in Torit

Torit State health ministry in collaboration with the United Nations Children Educational Fund or UNICEF and World Health Organization or WHO will on Friday launch measles campaign.
 
The campaign under the theme ‘Let’s give every child a healthy start’, aims at responding to the recurring measles cases reported from most of the counties.
 
Speaking to Radio Emmanuel, the representative of Torit State ministry of health, Janet Orlando says the campaign is expected to target more than 375,000 children.
 
Orlando calls on parents to take their children to receive measles vaccine.
 
‘So we came up with these initiative its better for us to cover all our children and our aim we are targeting from Six month to fifty-nine Month of age all over the state even in juba they started their campaign but ours will start on 6th to 13th of February’, says the health representative.
 
Orlando describes the vaccination as very important to prevent children from the disease.
 
“It’s very important because in the first place we are targeting our children from six months to fifty nine months it’s very important for us to target these children and to do the vaccination campaign because of the reported cases of measles outbreak in our neighbouring counties’, he adds.
 
The Official was talking to Radio Emmanuel in an interview on Tuesday.
