Torit Health Science Institute resolves to increase the tuition fees for 2020 and 2021 academic year to 8000 South Sudanese Pounds for government sponsored students and 15,000 Pounds for private learners.
The resolution was made to address issues affecting the institute.
Speaking to Radio Emmanuel in an interview, the Principal of the institute Stephen Namwang Karlo says the increment is expected to commence this year.
‘Indeed to tell you, we came with the proposal which we propose already. Not only me as the principal, it was also a collective responsibility of tutors. I think we need to look beyond that when we are proposing we are to propose something that is equivalent to the situation that we have. Now, we came with a conclusion that government students should pay 8000 SSP, and then private students should also pay 15000 pounds. This is what we have already come up with’, says Karlo.
Principal Namwang explains that the institute is committed to teach and improve the learning condition.
‘The planning now also commence because it will help us to know what we need to do particularly in everyday activities so that we can break depending on the cost that we wanted to spend as per the plan in particular activities. It is ongoing now the tutors are committed. What they will come up with, I hope that this is the rightful plan they come up with’.
Board of Director’s Chairperson Lupo Paul says the body is yet to review the school planning and budgeting because it is a technical issue that needs time.
‘The issue of planning was made by the school administration which we were also invited to come and look around and try if we can pass the planning and budgeting. We found that, this thing have to be worked again, today is the day for planning and budgeting which I’m just around to look at how they are doing it, but that is a technical work’
The speakers made the remarks to Radio Emmanuel at Torit Health Science Institute on Saturday.
