The Ministry of Gender Child and Social Welfare in collaboration with CTSAMVM has organized training on gender promotion and protection of civilians in Yei.
The training targeted ministers, elders, youth leaders, women associations, health service providers, people with disability, teachers, chiefs and different police departments.
Speaking during the opening of the workshop, Yei River State Deputy Governor Yusto Baba Dema called on CTSAMVM to investigate any reported incidence and educate the people.
Yusto hopes the workshop will yield good fruits.
The Governor says the ministry of gender has direct connection with some women and girls who are raped or facing gender based violence.
He commends that the collaboration between the ministry of gender and CTSAMVM reduces cases of sexual violence in different areas of the state.
Meanwhile CTSAMVM team leader Robert Ngabirano in Yei promises continues support to the peace process especially protection of civilians.
The two leaders were addressing the participants attending the training at ECSS in Yei.
