The authorities of Tonj State issued an order removing all checkpoints on the roads as a step forward to implement presidential order.
Speaking to Don Bosco Radio, Town Mayor Joseph Anei Madoor Maluacdit says it is a sign of cooperation between Tonj State government and the president to clear all roadblocks across the country.
The Mayor notes that humanitarian organizations and traders have been raising a lot of concerns because of too much tax collection at checkpoints, leading to high prices of goods.
Anei says removing roadblocks is aimed at minimizing unnecessary collection taxes from traders to reduce prices in the area.
Anei Madoor made the remarks on Tuesday in an interview with Don Bosco Radio in his office in Tonj.
