Police authorities in Yei River State have confirmed the arrest of a man for stealing people’s property in the area.
Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation Department, Francis Sarafadin Lukadi explains that different items of people were recovered from the man including; clothes, shoes, beds, utensils, tables, mattresses and many others.
Sarafadin says his office received reports from different people complaining of their property being stolen.
He says the police are doing their best to protect citizens and their property.
Daniel Batali Gabriel Ali, the suspect, blames his relatives for not supporting him financially and in school.
He cites luck of support forcing him to start stealing since last year.
Batali says he was denied by his uncle and sent out of home due to misunderstandings related to his sister’s dowry payment.
He says when his father died; they started suffering at home, dropout of school and joined the work of blockers.
The suspect promises not to get involve in taking people’s property again and calls on the government to train and deploy him as a soldier, to work for the state and the country at large.
He blames the crisis and insecurity that has made all roads blocked making youth not to operate businesses that could sustain their lives.
Batali is in the police custody waiting for trials.
Few weeks ago, similar incident happened in which six children were caught by joint operation team for breaking into a shop.
