The two principals of the revitalised peace accord made no progress on Wednesday’s meeting on the unresolved matter of the number of states and boundaries.
Presidential Advisor on Security Affairs Tut Gatluak told the press at the state house that the consultations are still continuing with the principals and the parties are committed to reach to a solution.
He explained that committees of the boundaries and the five parties that are signatories to the agreement are still working on the matter.
Gatluak added that Sudan as one of the peace guarantors will be mediating the meeting after the parties listen to the reports on the issue.
The two principal in the last meeting in 2019, said they are committed to the revitalised peace accord and agreed on the security arrangements and other outstanding issues.
South African Special Envoy to South Sudan David Mabuza is leading the consultation on the states and boundaries and met with the two principals according to the IGAD meetings schedule.
