Rumbek Town Mayor Maliap Chieny said sporting activities are meant for unity and exercise among young people and different age groups.
He urged the youth to take games as uniting factor that will bring people together in the state, Good News Radio reported.
Girls’ volleyball team captain, Nyitur Hassan Riak, mentioned lack of materials, playgrounds and restrictions from parents as some challenges facing their sporting activities in the state.
Boys’ team captain Peter Matur Mangol appealed to sport partners and government to help them with jerseys, boots, and other sporting materials for volleyball and football teams.
On Tuesday, Western Lakes State Local Volleyball Association organized a friendly match for welcoming the new Town Mayor.
