The commissioners of eight counties of Tonj and Wau States concluded their conference in Manlor.
According to Don Bosco Radio, the dialogue was between cattle keepers of Tonj and farmers of Wau and bordering communities working together on how to peacefully coexist with others states.
UNMISS in Kwajok chaired the conference with the support from commissioners of Manlor, Roj-roj Dong, Alur, Kuarjina, Pagol, Tonj County, Jak and Wanhalel Counties.
Manlor Commissioner, Paul Mangong Awan, on behave of his colleagues, explained that the conference was fruitful with positive resolutions on Marial-Baai Agreement implementations for cattle migration season.
Mangong explained that the conference aimed at bringing cattle keepers and farmers together under one umbrella by forming groups that can work collectively to allow free movement of cattle in Jur land.
The commissioner encouraged commissioners of Wau and Tonj States to work collectively to implement what they have discussed in the conference for the benefit of all communities.
Mangong advised farmers and cattle keepers to love one another, show that they are ready for peace in the country.
He also appealed to the two states’ governments to implement the agreement on deployment of forces on the borders to avoid misunderstanding again.
