The Commissioner of Kupera County in Yei River State confirmed that Christmas was peacefully celebrated in the county.
According to Radio Easter, Emmanuel Khamis congratulates the security personnel for providing maximum security during the festivities.
He also commends the role of church leaders in ensuring cooperation between the forces and civilians.
The commissioner mentions that security personnel were very professional in responding to any incident during the Christmas celebrations.
Khamis believes it is the responsibility of the government to ensure effective security in the country.
Commissioner Emmanuel cites that provision of security should not only be limited to big days celebrations but on daily basis.
He hopes the New Year will be peaceful because of the level of good relations between civilians and organized forces.
The commissioner was speaking to Radio Easter during an exclusive interview in Yei.
