Bangladesh battalion contingent in collaboration with Wau State Minister of Agricultural distributed veterinary medicines to pastoralists in Majak area of Wau.
One of the beneficiaries confirmed that she has more than five hundreds heads of cattle’s and more cows die due to the disease and lack of medicines, Voice of Hope Radio reported.
‘All this time my cows always die though we take them to veterinary or sometimes veterinary vaccinators use to come still they die and I don’t know if the cows are the problem or the medicines are the ones not effective so I don’t know what is the problem since am here in Wau’, she complained.
Director-General of Ministry of Agricultural, Animal Resources Joseph Richard asked the Bangladesh Battalion and veterinary partners to distribute the veterinary medicines to all cattle camps for the safety of cows and people.
‘The vaccination of today is targeting both the cows, goats and also distribution of medicine to our animals as we now this animals are our resources and if it’s our resources we need to take good care of them and that we authorities of Ministry Of Agricultural and Animal Resources we want this campaign to continue to other parts of the state and not Wau only, but should reach counties special Wau North Counties or with tame animals’, he appealed.
Wau Minister of Agricultural, Animal Resources John Peter Miskin acknowledged the service the Bangladesh Battalion is giving to people of the state.
He encouraged the cattle’s owners to take care of their cows and goats through proper treatment because these are resources of the country.
The speakers made these remarks to the Voice of Hope Radio during medicines distribution in Majak cattle camp on Monday.
