The South Sudan Catholic Bishops are appealing to citizens to celebrate Christmas and New Year with peace.

The President of Bishops Conference Eduardo Hiboro Kusala calls on the people to engage in activities that brings peace in South Sudan.

‘Peace truly will be born with Christ. Whether it is eating, celebrating, dancing or buying new things. Please do it in the interest of the peace in our country. All of us at different capacities should experience peace. Let us do what we can to make our country once and for all a peaceful prosperous nation’, says Hiboro Kusala.

Bishop Hiboro advises citizens to forgive and reconcile with one another during the festive season.

‘So may everybody celebrate this Christmas in peace and harmony, in good heart and really forgive one another. Know that peace is development and development is peace and with the coming of Christ, He is both peace and development. Happy Christmas to everybody, celebrate it well and may we meet in 2020 with permanent peace in South Sudan’, the Bishop wishes.

He prays that God blesses South Sudan and Sudan during this Christmas.

The President of the South Sudan Bishops Conference made the remarks on Friday in Juba.
