Representative of South Sudan former political detainees says it does not need millions of dollars to tell the government and SPLM/IO forces to evacuate the civilians’ buildings they occupy.
There are houses that are still occupied by parties to the agreement, but the representative of the former political detainees, Samuel Maker calls for orders against the forces to quite the buildings.
‘There are certain things that don’t need resources. Now people are still talking about occupation of civilians’ houses. Do you need millions of dollars to tell SPLM/IO or SSPDF or to get out of civilians’ centres? Do we need a budget for that? Is just a matter of giving orders to them to get out of the civilians’ centres? Go to the barracks to where you belong. So it does not need resources. These are things that should be done without question of resources’, Maker stresses.
According to CTSAM-VM civilians’ buildings are still occupied by the parties; mostly by government forces.
