Boda-boda riders express concerns over rampant looting on roads

Boda-boda riders in Western Lakes State decry the rate of day light robbery on their operation routes.
 
They say the riders have become target to armed men who are stationed along the roads, looting travellers.
 
One of the victims, William Monday, a Boda-boda raider, says robbers have looted all his belongings such as money, phones and clothes.
 
Another rider, Santino Acheng Wade, asks the government to establish police unit to quell down insecurity on Wulu and Rumbek East highways.
 
He also calls on the government to repair the roads.
 
Abraham Makuer Adut advises those involve in looting people’s property to stop the practice and embark on self‚Äìreliance activities like small business scale and farming.
 
Use of motor cycles is the most important means of transportation and source of income to young men in Western Lakes State, but with the ongoing robbery on roads, it became a tough job in the town.
 
The speakers made these remarks in an exclusive interview with Good News Radio on Thursday in Rumbek.
