Ending child and forced marriage workshop begins in Rumbek

The three-day campaign workshop to end early and forced marriages in Western Lakes State commenced on Wednesday in Rumbek.
 
According to facilitator Parach Mach, the training aims at eliminating forced and early marriages in the state, Good News Radio reports.
 
Victoria Ayen Majok, Western Lakes State Minister of Education, called on parents to believe that their children will be leaders of the community and South Sudan at large.
 
Ayen urged young girls to excel well in schools to impress their parents so that they will not take them out of school to be forced to marriage early.
 
The training which brought together learners from different schools in Rumbek town was supported by Canada Fund for Local Initiatives, aimed at enlightening parents and young people.
