Pupils in Yei River State on Monday started their Primary Leaving Exams for the year 2019.
According to Radio Easter, Acting Governor, Yusto Baba Dema, while ringing the bell for the start of the exercise, encouraged pupils not to be emotional during their final exams.
He explained that it has been a very long journey to reach this day and the government and parents are happy to witness it.
The official was optimistic that candidates will successfully pass the exams.
Baba disclosed many people want to bring their children to study in Yei because of conducive learning environment.
The acting governor also encouraged the pupils not to panic, but rather relax and work hard until the end of the exams.
The speaker made the remarks during the opening of the primary Leaving Certificate exams at Christ the King Primary School of the Catholic Diocese of Yei.
