The head teacher of Airport View Nursery and Primary School calls on parents to observe children’s rights to education and protection.
The call came during graduation ceremony of 102 nursery children in Torit, Radio Emmanuel reports.
Speaking during the occasion Sisto Opur tells parents to send their children to school for a better future. He emphasizes on the need to create more awareness on child’s rights in the state and South Sudan at large.
‘Let’s take responsibility of these children as we are graduating and they are wearing their first gown today the second gown will be that of the university. Many children still do not go to school; you see them in market places while parents watch them’, he explains
The Chairperson of Parent Teachers Association or PTA Collins Ifwa advises learners to advocate for their rights. She appeals for equality for men and women.
Municipal Council Inspector for Nursery Education Betty Akullo, stresses on the needs for more teachers to nursery schools to achieve quality education.
She calls on parents to support and motivate teachers for better performance.
‘And teachers are doing tiresome work without support from parents. They also need motivation their work is not easy. They are suffering am appealing to the manager please let there be more teachers at the nursery section,’ she stresses.
The inspector calls on school administrations to commit in rendering quality education to children.
