The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry in Western Lakes State, Zachariah Magot Ater issued ministerial order, banning cutting down of premature trees such as Mahogany, Bamboo and other important trees for charcoal burning.
In a statement to Good News Radio, the Minister calls on the local government authorities, including County Agriculture and Forestry department, chiefs and police to adhere to the order.
It adds that anyone caught violating the order will be arrested and charged according to the forest’s Act.
