About 99 children have graduated from a nursery school in Torit and were awarded certificate of completion.

Christ Bright Academy head teacher Erneo Laslas Ohisa appreciates the nursery teachers for their commitment in teaching and giving the children strong foundation.

‘The achievement this year is increased enrolment compared to last year. We are graduating about 99 children. The number was 114 but some parents could not afford to send their children to school in time. So, about 14 of them will repeat class. The 99 who are graduating today is a very big achievement’.

Chief Inspector of Education, Sikuku Ruth Nasimiyu, describes the graduation as a step to laying a strong foundation for literacy in the state.

She applauds parents for supporting their children and keeping them in school.

‘These learners we are going to graduate today have laid a strong foundation for basic literacy and numerous skills which will help them tomorrow. We are also celebrating today because they are going to get the first certificate in education. To our parents I would like to extent my sincere thanks and appreciation to you for the support to the school.’

Meanwhile Mayor Juliana Momoi Choho encourages parents to continue sending their children to school.

He explains that laying good foundation to school learners helps improve performance at all levels of studies.

The speakers made the remarks during graduation ceremony of Christ Bright Academy Nursery kids at Torit freedom square.
