Authorities in Wau Municipal Council on Tuesday launched a general cleaning campaign with the aim of keeping the town clean.
Deputy Mayor for Land and Environment, Makuach Deng Madut, explained that the cleaning will target all main roads in Wau town.
He assured that the municipality will be monitoring people to guarantee that no garbage is thrown along the roads.
Deng called on business people to keep the environment clean, urging the people to cooperate.
He warned that anyone found throwing garbage along the roads will face charges from the municipality.
Earlier this month, authorities of Wau municipality issued a local order to business people to avoid throwing garbage along Wau main roads.
