UN urges all parties to agreement to urgently resolve outstanding issues

The UN Commission on Human Rights in South Sudan urges all parties to the revitalised peace agreement to work urgently to resolve security arrangements and the number of states and boundaries.
 
The Commission made the statement on Friday after 100-days after extension for the formation of the transitional government.
 
It said ‘South Sudanese are desperate for peace so they can begin the task of rebuilding their lives and develop the potential of their country following years of conflict’.
 
The Commission called on party leaders to work in good faith to implement all aspects of the peace agreement for the sake of South Sudanese people
 
It pointed out that justice and accountability are critical elements for ending cycles of violence and impunity essential if South Sudan is to achieve sustainable peace.
