Wau State Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare on Friday returned the baby who was damped at the gate of POC in UN compound to be taken care by the family of the mother.
The grandfather of the baby regretted for the big mistake made by his daughter to throw a one-day-old baby to the road.
He appreciated the cooperation of the government on the process they made to return the baby to the family.
The grandmother of the baby explained that she was not aware that her daughter was pregnant.
She apologized and promised to the ministry that her daughter will not repeat such a case again.
Meanwhile Minister of Gender, Christina Gabriel Ali, urged the families to give good care to their children.
She appealed to the mothers to look after their daughters at home in order to avoid such cases in the future.
The speakers made their statements during the returning of the baby to the mother at the State Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare in Wau.
