President Salva Kiir Mayardit advised the South Sudan People’s Defence Forces to change their old mind set and accept the transformation.
He told the Seventh Command Council Conference that the army must change their mentality according to the international standard.
Kiir added that the formation of the government on November 12th needs the army to be transformed.
‘The delay to formation of the transitional government is not good with us’, he pointed out.
The Commander in Chief said the SSPDF should sacrifice their positions for peace to prevail.
The president instructed the Command Council to fulfill South Sudanese call for peace and they should get the positions by votes not bullets.
The conference touches chapter two on the revitalised accord and the army should comply with it, Kiir adds.
The President and SSPDF Commander-in-Chief was giving opening remarks to the Command Council on Thursday under the theme: ‘SSPDF transformation and challenges of implementing the R-ARCSS’.
