Minister of Education in Yei River State Peter Butili Farajallah told citizens that the most active human body part is the hands and 99 percent of the diseases which enter the stomach is brought by the hands.
The minister explains that in South Sudan people prefer washing hands with soap after eating meat or fish but not washing with soap before eating food, Radio Easter reports.
He advises citizens to follow hand washing as the the Ten Commandments in the Bible.
It is important to wash hands at least after every 10 minutes because everything is done by the hands, Justine Lokonga Commissioner of Yei River County advises citizens.
He explains that the hands produce food and touches a lot of things and are sources which carry many germs.
The Commissioner encourages the gathering to wash hands as many times as possible because the work of the hands is very many which attract diseases including Ebola, Cholera and flue.
The speakers made the remarks on Friday during the celebration of the Global Hand Washing Day at Jigomoni Primary School in Yei.
