Western Lakes State new minister of Education Victoria Ayen Majok calls for team work in the ministry to promote quality education among the children
She while assuming her full duties on Wednesday, appeals to parents to promote girls child education by taking their daughters to school, Good News Radio reports.
The minister encourages mothers to give girls a chance to pursue their education because girls are future leaders.
She says ‘it is our collective responsibility as teachers and the government to provide favorable atmosphere for their studies’.
Director-General for Education in the Ministry Agolder Alfred urges teachers and students to works in collaboration with the minister to improve quality education.
He appeals to girls to read hard to be ministers in the nearest future.
The speakers made the remarks during the welcoming ceremony in the Ministry of Education organized by the staff of the Education Ministry, school children and the community on Wednesday in Rumbek.
