The manager of Rumbek Physical Rehabilitation Centre Gabriel Matoch Dau says the rate of people with disabilities is rising due to presence of unauthorized guns in the hands of civilians.

In an exclusive interview with Good News Radio on Tuesday, Matoch explains that random gunshot and motor cycle accidents contribute to the increase of people with disability in the state.

He adds currently there are 2,229 physically challenged people receiving services from the centre.

Dau calls on young people to stop killing each other.

One of the patients who suffered gunshot on his right leg Juma Mahmoud Mayiet expresses delight that he is able to walk due to the physical therapy he receives at the centre.

The Physical Rehabilitation centre was established in 2004 at Rumbek State Hospital and supported by International Committee of the Red Cross.
