Members of Inter-Governmental Authority for Development or IGAD countries have arrived in Juba on Monday to start the Sudan peace talks.
The President of the Sudan Sovereign Council, Abdel Fatah Al Burhani, Egyptian Prime Minister Mustapha Madbouli, President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abby Ahmed arrived in Juba to launch talks between Sudanese government and their opposition parties.
President Salva Kiir welcomed them at Juba International Airport among jubilant crowds and traditional dancer.
Al Hadi Idriss head of the Sudan Revolutionary Front says the launch of the peace talks in Juba lays a strong foundation for serious negotiations.
He expects good news to the Sudanese out of the talks in Juba.
Malik Agar, a member of the Sudan Revolutionary Front, considers the launch as historic and unique opportunity and hopes something tangible would materialize from the discussions.
Expressing the commitment of the Revolutionary Front to the talks, he says their presence in Juba indicates seriousness to peace and stability in the Sudan.
Gibril Ibrahim, a member of the Revolutionary Front, describes the launch of talks in Juba as a strong indicator to realize peace in the Sudan through the negotiations that will start on Tuesday in Juba.
Jemma Nunu Kumba, Acting SPLM Secretary-General says the negotiations will end with tangible results for total peace in the whole Sudan.
She urges the Sudanese government and all opposition parties to commit to the peace talks and end the conflict in their country.
Meanwhile the Sudanese government delegation and opposition parties arrived in Juba on Sunday.
Other African leaders expected from Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Djibouti, Somalia, did not come to attend the launch of Sudanese peace talks.
