Father Jacob Odwa of the Catholic Diocese of Torit on Friday confirmed 35 children as childhood missionaries at St Francis of Assisi Parish, Nimule.
Childhood missionaries are children who committed their lives to serve the Lord and help the needy.
Father Odwa encourages them to fulfil their promises in serving the poor people in communities.
He tasks young believers to be role models and commit to be servants of God’s teachings.
Fr Odwa urges childhood missionaries to follow God’s instructions.
While Gloria Lasea, a team leader for the confirmed children, says proclaiming the word of God is their first priority.
She urges Christians to support them in spreading the word of God to people at the grassroots.
The children testify their commitment to serve God and His people amidst challenges.
The speakers were speaking during the feast of St Francis of Assisi in Nimule on Friday.
