Parish Priest of Saints Peters and Paul Cathedral Leonsyio Omina Okworomoi is encouraging the faithful to follow the teaching of Jesus Christ.

Jesus taught people to love the Lord your God with all your heart and mine as well as love your neighbour as you love yourself, Radio Emmanuel reports.

Fr Omina says following Gods commandment will help Christians to stop killing and stealing in communities.

Father Okwormoi adds that obeying God’s commandments enables one to enter God’s kingdom.

He advises the rich to handle their wealth with care by assisting one another especially the poor, blinds and other disables.

‘In the first reading we have been warned about wealth how we handle them let us use them properly so that our solidarity, our friendship is really in place so that the charity that we talk socially is in place. There are lot of people who are very kind who understand they can extend their hands very far abroad in some words that are call Caritas, Caritas what does the word Caritas come from? Caritas, comes from charity generously to give to others so it is therefore having the Christians route that we talk of Caritas, but the power of that word was truly unifying the really route of Caritas. It is actually based on Christians’ charity readiness to support our brothers and sisters in need’, he explains.

The Parish Priest was giving his homily to the congregation at Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral on Sunday.
