20 people die of HIV and AIDS in Nuba Mountains, Health secretariat confirms

20 HIV and AIDS patients have died and over two hundred people are living with the disease, the Health Secretariat of Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North territory confirms.
 
Tutu Mustafa Turkash told the gathering that SPLM leadership is concerned about the increase of STIs, urging the community to jointly fight it.
 
An officer in the department of HIV and AIDs, Munir Barnaba says the most affected group are teenagers and adults aged 13th to 35 years above.
 
He encourages people to go for check-up in order to know their health status.
 
Mustafa calls on the regional, including the county authorities to be agents of HIV and AIDS awareness in the area.
 
The officials were addressing the gathering during Sexual Transmitted Infections or STIs forum in Kauda on Tuesday.
