Seven South Sudanese have set off to the United Kingdom to upgrade their studies in different universities under the Chevening scholarship by the British government.
Radio Bakhita reports that candidates are chosen yearly for post graduate programs by the British council in Juba.
Speaking during a farewell party held at European Union Compound, Deputy Head of Mission of British Embassy, Charles Moore says the scholarship is for Masters Program.
He adds the program encourages people who have completed their first degree to upgrade in the UK.
The Deputy Head of mission mentions since 2011, 36 students have attended Universities in the United Kingdom through the Chevening scholarship program.
An alumnae of Chevening program from University of Manchester, Rajab Muhandis, shared his great experienced in the UK with the candidates.
One of the candidates Paula Itto says she expects a lot from this opportunity and hopes to gain more from it.
She urges aspirants for 2019 to 2020 to be patient as the application process is not an easy one.
The Chevening Scholarship is an international scholarship scheme which enables students with leadership qualities from over 160 countries to undertake postgraduate studies in universities in the UK.
