The United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS on Thursday started a two-day training to sensitize journalists and state authorities on human rights and freedom of expression.
UNMISS Rumbek field officer Kwame Dwamena says the course aims at informing the human rights defenders on ways of reporting correct information to citizens, Good News Radio reports.
He describes the media as important fourth state of the government communicating information to the people.
Western Lakes State Deputy Governor Mathiang Deng Monydit requests participants to use their skills to disseminate the revitalised peace agreement signed in September last year.
The training brought together about 29 Journalists from Lakes State region.
