The Minister of Education in Yei River State is urging the girls to protect themselves from unwanted pregnancy.
Radio Easter quotes Kenyi Abiaza John saying when a girl starts to menstruate it signals that she can easily conceive.
He adds girls should put in to their minds that they are still young and not ready and mature enough to be pregnant.
‘Menstruation signals that the uterus is ready for a baby but if your eleven years and have started menstruating are you sure your ready fora baby? your not and it’s natural to menstruate but as a girl know that you’re not yet ready for such responsibility’ the minister explains.
Minister Kenyi says the government is caring for the school children in their studies at their various learning institutions.
The Education minister was speaking at Emmanuel Model Primary School during the commemoration of the Menstruation Health Day on Saturday in Yei.
