40 attend driving course in Nuba Mountains

At least 40 drivers from different secretariats and Local Non-Governmental Organizations are attending driving workshop in Kumu, Nuba Mountains.
 
Speaking to Voice of Peace Radio Coordination Unit and facilitator, Patrick Umindi Ayeco, says the aim of the training is to improve driving standard safety measures for drivers in the area.
 
He adds the practice will enable drivers to be mindful of other road users like the pedestrians.
 
Facilitator Umindi explains the training targets 40 individuals who in turn will train others in the community.
 
Female participant Sarafina Bushra Kardud, is happy to take part in the training.
 
She encourages ladies to break the cultural barriers that prevent women from doing male dominated job. 
 
Another participant, Shakir Abdurahim Kunda, says he learnt safety measures and driving at reduced speed to prevent accident. 
 
He adds that drinking alcohol while driving is highly discouraged during work time.
 
The seven days training will end on Monday August 5th, 2019.
